Pokemon GO Shiny Minccino: What Does it Look Like?

Minccino will be featured in a Limited Research event in Pokemon GO, during which players have a small chance of catching its Shiny form according to Niantic.

Here's what Shiny Minccino and Shiny Cinccino look like in Pokemon GO:

Shiny Minccino turns from gray to pink while the red for its ears turns yellow. However, Shiny Cinccino turns more yellowish with purple instead of red for the ears.

Minccino will appear as part of a special event in celebration of the Year of the Rat on February 2 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, according to Niantic. Players can encounter the Pokemon via special Field Research tasks distributed during the event. They can also be found in 5 km Eggs found during the event, and will still be available in 5 km Eggs after the event is over.

According to research from The Silph Road, Pokemon have a 1 in 60 chance of being shiny if encountered through Field Research tasks. However, this was only tested on the pokemon Aerodactyl for the task "evolve an Omanyte or Kabuto" during Adventure Week 2018, so it's unclear if this rate is the same across all Pokemon obtained from Field Research tasks. The website also states that Pokemon have a 1 in 50 chance of being shiny if hatched from an Egg, but they only tested hatching Baby Pokemon.

In other Pokemon GO news, Tornadus, a Legendary Pokemon from the Unova region, will be available to fight and catch in Raid Battles from February 4 to 25, according to Niantic.

On February 4 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. local time, Niantic will test a new feature known as Pokemon Spotlight Hour where a surprise Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild. They will also test a feature known as Mystery Bonus Hour on February 6 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.

From February 7 to 10, Pokemon from the Sinnoh region will be more likely to appear in the wild. Sinnoh region Pokemon will also appear in Raid Battles, according to Niantic. During the event, 7 km Eggs will hatch into Budew, Combee, Bronzor, Gible, Riolu, Hippopotas and Mantyke. Players will be able to earn Sinnoh Stones and other rewards from special Field Research Tasks during the event. Shiny Riolu and Shiny Hippopotas will also be added to the game during that time.

Then players can look forward to a special Valentines Day event from February 15 to 17, where pink Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild, in Eggs and after completing Field Research tasks. The Unova region Pokemon Audino and Alomomola will make their Pokemon GO debut along with the shiny versions of Happiny and Chansey once the event goes live. In addition, Lure Modules will last six hours and you'll earn double the Candy from catching Pokemon. And don't forget about the Raid Day on February 15 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time featuring Lickitung with the move Body Slam.

The game will also host a special weekend event from February 21 to 24 where friendship levels increase faster, players earn double the Candy from trades, trades cost half the Stardust, and the number of Gifts you can open daily and the number of Gifts you can carry in your inventory will increase to 40 and 20 respectively.

Update: A previous version of this article stated that Minccino and the event it's featured in is live in certain parts of the world after the official Pokemon GO Twitter account tweeted about it. It doesn't seem like that's quite the case just yet. The tweet has since been deleted.
